Drizzle’s Green Guardians Trail – Spring Hunt
Did you know that the sanctuary is home to thousands of insects, animals and plants? They all rely on Drizzle…
View EventDesigned for 11-15 year olds interested in a career in veterinary care, this is an exclusive opportunity for children to discover what first-rate equine veterinary care actually involves, brought to you by The Donkey Sanctuary: a global centre of excellence in donkey welfare.
Veterinary work experience for under 16s is very rare, so this fascinating and insightful experience has been specifically developed to provide children with a taste of veterinary work in a real-life setting, which can help shape and influence their future career path.
Aspiring junior vets will work with the sanctuary’s qualified veterinary staff to learn how to diagnose and treat Hettie, the poorly donkey, from in-depth examinations, medication, anatomy, pathology and dentistry to hoof problems and surgery. There will of course be some time for donkey grooming too.
The Junior Vet Day is based at The Donkey Sanctuary’s new, state-of-the-art donkey hospital at Brookfield Farm near Honiton, Devon and places cost £120 each.
To book a place on one of the Junior Vet Days, please call 01395 573156 or email [email protected]
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis so book early to avoid disappointment.
