A visit to the National Marine Aquarium will take you on an inspiring journey – from the coastal shores of Plymouth Sound, to the coral reefs of Australia. With over 5,000 marine animals to meet including sharks, stingrays and a very cheeky turtle, you’ll discover something new every visit.
Pick up a themed interactive activity trail at the start of your journey. Learn facts about the Ocean and collect stamps in each of our 4 Aquarium zones – Plymouth Sound, British Coasts, Atlantic Ocean and Blue Planet.
Our team of Ocean Discovery Rangers are on hand to answer your marine questions and deliver daily animal talks and dive shows! Don’t forget to get involved with our interactive drawing display and watch your drawings come to life.
Refuel at our Waves Cafe with a coffee, snack, or range of delicious hot and cold meals. Enjoy in front of stunning views overlooking Plymouth Sound and the Barbican. Pick up a cuddly souvenir in our Ocean Gift shop, or a special gift for yourself or a loved one. Our Gift Shop is also open to visit without an Aquarium ticket.

The National Marine Aquarium has a range of exciting and immersive ocean-themed events taking place single month, discover what we’ve got lined up here.
Our charity, the Ocean Conservation Trust, also provide a range of activities outside of the aquarium that aims to get people in, on or under the ocean!
The National Marine Aquarium recommend at least a three hour visit to properly see all the exhibits and marine animals. The nearby carpark has payment by phone and your time can be extended. The Aquarium also has an onsite restaurant.
It is recommended all visitors pre-book whether or not they are paying or using a complimentary or annual return passes. Entry cannot be guaranteed without a booking, especially at busy and peak times, school holidays and weekends. Pay on arrival entries will be allowed until full capacity is reached.
