Ever been to one of the zoos in Devon? If you had to pick one thing that’s guaranteed to make the whole family smile on a day out, it could very well be to go to an animal park or wildlife park in Devon to meet our furry, slippery, hairy and hoofed friends.

A visit to one of the animal attractions or wildlife parks Devon has to offer is not just a brilliant day out making memories – it’s fun and educational too. It’s also a chance to get hands-on with our county’s fascinating wildlife – and some from more exotic climes too!

Many of the zoos in Devon – as well as the aquariums, and other attractions focused on animals – will have sections given over to local wildlife, so you might get to delight in the antics of otters, horse around with donkeys, or giggle as sheep are made into showmen.

You’re guaranteed some surprises too of course. Many of Devon’s animal attractions also introduce their visitors to wildlife that’s certainly not native to the immediate area. Meet wallabies, alpacas, lions, monkeys, giraffes, spiders, snakes – and many more fascinating creatures. Many attractions are also set in Devon countryside, making a visit to a zoo or wildlife park a really lovely day out.

Visitors can get even more involved if they like. Most attractions offer talks or experiences offering the chance to delve further into the lives of the creatures housed there – or even get up close and personal with pre-bookable one-to-one sessions.
