Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves

Kents Cavern is one of Europe’s top Stone Age sites, with an extensive labyrinth of spectacular and easily accessible caverns open daily all year.

On your underground journey, our entertaining guides will bring stories of early humans, Ice Age beasts and Victorian excavators to life.  As you venture through the cave you’ll explore fascinating passageways and stunning chambers with stalagmites and stalactites and discover the 400 million year old story of Kents Cavern.

In the Woodland Trail you’ll find statues of the animals whose bones and teeth were discovered inside the cave and you can take part in different activities as you wander along the footpath. Learn how Stone Age people survived and thrived here and see if you can crack their tribal codes!

The café at Kents Cavern is open to everyone, even if you don’t visit the caves! Serving quality local food, homemade cakes and refreshing drinks throughout the day, you wont be disappointed by what we have to offer.

We have a jam-packed event programme throughout the year, including our nationally rated Santa in the Caves experience, Carols Underground, Cave Cinema and more! Check out our website for more information, prices and how to book: https://www.kents-cavern.co.uk/

Serendipitous find! I had never heard of this place before, and it was a chance glance at a leaflet by my 9yr old granddaughter that made us pay a visit.
We were not disappointed.
Excellent walking tour through the cavern that was lead by Abbi who made it fun and educational.
I cannot believe this cavern dates back millions of years and we can walk through it! Definitely a must see if you are in area.
