Diggerland Park In Devon To Close On 5th September

The Diggerland Park in Cullompton, Devon is set to close on Sunday 5th September 2021.

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has had a detrimental effect on the business as a whole, however the Diggerland park located in Devon, which is rural and relies heavily on tourism, has been the worst affected. The Devon park has struggled with staffing levels this year and has lost money heavily since the start of the pandemic.

All other Diggerland sites, located around the UK in Kent, Yorkshire and Durham will remain open.

A Diggerland representative has said, “It is with deep regret that due to circumstances beyond our control we must close the Diggerland park located in Devon. This decision has most definitely not been an easy one to make.”

“Our other Diggerland parks located in Kent, Yorkshire and Durham will remain open with business as usual.”

“We would like to thank all of our staff working at the Diggerland Devon park for their hard work and dedication over the last year and a half. It most definitely has not been easy but the vast majority of our staff have been amazing during this difficult time.”

“All customers who have booked to visit the Devon park post the closure date, have either been contacted already or will be contacted very soon regarding alternative arrangements. We would encourage those who want to experience the thrills of driving real diggers, dumpers and other construction machinery to come to Diggerland during the last few weeks of opening.”

Diggerland is The Ultimate Adventure Theme Park Experience where children and adults alike can ride, drive and operate REAL diggers, dumpers and other full- size construction machinery.

Fun for all ages from 4 (subject to height restrictions) to 40-plus, Diggerland with its 20 different rides and drives and an array of additional activities is the ideal theme park for small to large groups looking for something exciting and truly unique. Get to grips with real JCBs and 180/360 excavators, take a head-reeling turn or two on the Spindizzy, rise to lofty heights and enjoy the views on the Skyshuttle, enjoy an off-road ride on the Groundshuttle, or have a go on the Dodgems and Go-Karts!

There are indoor and outdoor play areas, sandpits, coin operated rides and much more where younger visitors can let off steam while their parents can just sit back, relax and watch the fun… or join in!

All parks boast a Diggerland Goodie Store where visitors can mark their day with a memorable souvenir as well as buy gifts, toys and other merchandise, and there are cafeterias that offer a wide selection of hot and cold snacks, meals and beverages. Picnic tables are located in the grounds for those who prefer to take their own packed lunches.

As good as I hoped!

I visited on Sunday with a 10 and 13 yr old and they loved it! Got there at opening time and it took the boys about 3 hours to have one go on everything, then a break to warm up with hot chocolates in a nice cafe/barn, then back out to re-try their favourites. Both loved the fact that they could drive or control everything!! The 4×4 driving and real JCB driving were favourites along with spindizzy. Park seems small compared to theme parks, but don’t be fooled, there is LOADS to do! Most staff were young, but really friendly and professional. If it had been warmer we would have stayed even longer. Go prepared for it to be diggers and mud and you’ll love it!

Visited during the kids October half term and they absolutely loved it. Entrance prices were fair to how much you get to go on in the park! The rides themselves are built from an amazing imagination, especially the SpinDizzy ride!

Definitely recommend visiting. We will be back again!

What a perfect day out! We had a spontaneous day out with our 2 children (4 & 6) on the last day it was open. We didn’t really know what to expect as we had never visited before, and from first observation it looked quite small compared to what we thought it would look like, but we spent the whole day from 10am when it opened, to 4pm and the children didn’t want to leave!

Would definitely recommend to anyone to visit here, we can’t fault day out. The staff were lovely and helpful and the park was very tidy!

Can’t wait to visit again when the parks open for the new season!

2 family’s out together, all kids and adults alike had good fun.
Used the great value offer of half price entry too.
