Canonteign Falls Guided Walk and History Tour

To walk through the Canonteign Falls Estate is to meander through over 200 years of English history, taking in the traditions of seafaring, mining, and the Victorian love of plant collecting and garden design on an epic scale. Acquired by the 1st Lady Exmouth in 1811, the Estate was developed by successive generations of the Pellew family.

This guided walk takes you on a journey of discovery up 90 Victorian Steps into our magical Victorian Fern Garden and onwards to the top of Lady Exmouth Waterfalls, where the panorama of the Devon countryside is at your feet. Throughout the walk, our experienced tour guide will talk about the fascinating history of the Estate over the years.

The guided walk through waterfalls and ferns will take approximately 1.5 hours.  The tour includes full-day admission to the Estate allowing you to make a day of it and explore the entire 90 acres at your leisure. Tours run every Tuesday.
