Taste East Devon; Afternoon Tea & Donkey Enrichment Workshop
Take part in an enrichment workshop where you will create beneficial enrichment toys for the donkeys, followed by a donkey…
View EventAt the sanctuary in Sidmouth, we try to fill our donkeys’ days with ‘treats’ and avoid them experiencing any ‘tricks’. However, can you guess what a ‘trick’ or ‘treat’ looks like for our donkeys here at the sanctuary?
Following the trail by using your map, discover each hidden pumpkin. At each stop, you’ll find an item related to the donkeys. Is it a tasty treat that donkeys can enjoy, or a sneaky trick that they should avoid? Make your guess, then lift the flap to reveal the answer! Place the matching Trick or Treat sticker in the correct space on your trail sheet.
Remember – once you have completed your trail sheet, bring it to the Gift Shop to redeem your prize!
And once you’ve collected your prize, there’s plenty more to discover at the sanctuary. You can listen to our daily talk, experience scenic walks, engaging exhibits, or visit our award-winning restaurant and, of course, there are hundreds of adorable donkeys to meet; there’s so much to explore with your own herd, whatever the weather.
Take sanctuary in our Taste of the West award-winning restaurant, The Kitchen, and enjoy fresh, local, seasonal produce while soaking in the unparalleled coast and country views. Breakfasts, lunches and tempting afternoon treats are dished up daily, with every penny of profit helping donkeys and mules around the world.
Before heading home, browse our Gift Shop at leisure in the knowledge that every purchase goes towards helping donkeys in need. Packed with unique donkey-design items and souvenirs, you will find something for everyone.
Make the day your own, but above all else, fall in love with our herds of donkeys.
From humble beginnings as a UK rescue mission 50 years ago, The Donkey Sanctuary has grown into one of the world’s largest equine welfare charities.
General admission and parking at the sanctuary are FREE (donations welcome). Dogs on leads are welcome.
