Join in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the award-winning picture book, “The Gruffalo” with Forestry England’s exclusive family activity trail. Pick up your activity pack for £4 from the Info Pod and head onto the trail to search for missing party items to ensure Gruffalo can celebrate in style. The trail is packed with fun and games for an unforgettable adventure. The Gruffalo Party Activity Trail is available seven days a week.

On Tuesday 28 May, bring your four-legged family members to our FREE event, Haldon Forest Bark, for a paw-some day totally centred on our canine friends. Explore trade stands, have a go at making a paw print keepsake, and try your paw in the charity dog show (pre-registration required). There will be sights, sounds, and smells galore – an event not to be missed!

On Thursday 30 May, children of all ages will love our FREE workshops all about the mysterious and charismatic nightjars that live in Haldon Forest Park. The nocturnal ground-nesting birds travel over 3,000 miles to breed in the forest each summer. Join our rangers to have a go at matching the nightjar’s incredible camouflage skills and discover how your senses and hunting skills match up to those of a nightjar!

Haldon Forest Park is open 7:00am to 9:00pm seven days a week with walking and cycling trails for all abilities, orienteering courses for all levels of experience, Go Ape treetop rope course, play areas, mobility and cycle hire, dog-friendly cafe, picnic spots, and more!
