Read MoreHaldon Forest Park is the perfect place to get outdoors this winter. If it’s your first visit, you might be wondering how to prepare.
Don’t worry! Our rangers have put together their top tips for an outing to remember.
Wrap up warm
It can be colder in the forest than at home, but you don’t need any special equipment. A few layers are ideal to keep warm, topped with a coat. A hat and gloves are a good idea on super chilly days, and go for comfy, dry shoes, like wellies or walking boots.
Take time out
While you’re exploring the forest, take a few moments to tune in to your senses. Consider the colours of the trees, listen to the calls of the birds in the canopy, and enjoy panoramic views across the landscape.
Don’t forget your camera
Don’t leave home without a camera or phone to capture your favourite memories of the forest. Short days mean that amazing golden hour photos are never far away.
Bring good company
Gather your favourite people for an unforgettable day out. Whether you’re snuggling up in the café, gazing at the view, or swinging through the trees, why not do it together?
Rustle up a feast
Eating al fresco isn’t just for summer! Fill up flasks with soup and hot chocolate to wrap your fingers round as the steam curls into the cold air.
Are you ready for your winter adventures? Start planning with Haldon Forest Park.
