Spring into Devon this Easter for some great Easter family fun. Devon’s Top Attractions are putting on some egg-cellent activities to celebrate the Easter break with Easter trails, crafts, hunts, baby animals to meet and cuddle and fabulously funny shows to entertain all ages for the holidays. Easter is a special family time and with the long weekend there is a great opportunity to go egg-sploring and enjoy some spring family fun time.

What’s On in North Devon

On 29th March get ready for Easter by crafting your own willow bunny sculpture! In this workshop at Quince Honey Farm you will learn the basics of random weave and sculpture techniques to create a beautiful sculpture from locally sourced willow. Then take your willow bunny home to add some joy to your garden or household.

You will need sharp eyes around Clovelly from 7th to 10th April as you try and spot the Easter chicks hidden around the village. Children receive a village map on entry on which to mark the location of a number of Easter chicks perched up and down the cobbled High Street to the quay. If you spot at least 10 chicks you can return the map to the Visitor Centre reception to win a prize.

Best Places To Visit In Devon

You’ll find a unique Easter Grotto at the Milky Way Adventure Park, Bideford, from 1st to 14th April. Journey down the rabbit hole to the expanded Easter Bunny HQ to meet the friendly Eggsperts. Here, you’ll enter into the crazy Eggsperts’ world where you’ll help solve puzzles, make music and have fun checking out the clever egg-production process. Get invited into the Easter Bunny’s front room, where those aged 1-10 can meet the Bunny and receive a chocolatey treat!

There’s a giant Easter egg hunt at RHS Rosemoor in Torrington from 1st to 16th April. Explore the garden searching for the giant Easter eggs decorated with competition-winning designs based on spring wildlife and flowers. Once you’ve found all the eggs, you’ll be rewarded with a free chocolate treat. The Easter Bunny will be in the garden on the Easter weekend so keep an eye out. On 6th and 11th April there’ll be Giant Bubble shows with Captain Coconut with bubbles inside bubbles, bubbles big enough to fit a child and even a tower of bubbles – this show will blow you away!

There’s Easter Fun on the Farm at The Big Sheep in Bideford. Feed their newborn lambs, meet the animals, ride the Rampage Roller Coaster and Twister, watch the sheep race or climb and slide to your heart’s content in the Indoor Play Zone! Why not take on the Egg Hunt Challenge in association with Bloomsbury Books? Go on an Easter Egg Hunt and discover the hidden letters that spell a word, you can then be entered into the prize draw for your chance to… WIN your height in books!

Dartington Crystal’s Easter activities from 3rd to 14th April are sure to keep the kids entertained, with Easter crafts, Easter egg trails and themed glass painting. Get creative and make Easter decorations and make sure you show your support to Children’s Hospice Southwest and go on the bear hunt. Where could ‘Magnificence’ the bear be hiding? Plus see their craftspeople hard at work creating beautiful pieces for you to use and enjoy.

What’s on in Exeter & East Devon

It’s Mad Hatters and March Hares at Coldharbour Mill near Uffculme on 10th April. Join the team to help gather all their misplaced Easter eggs. Plus, there’s children’s storytelling in the Fox Gallery. Explore their working factory floor with its 110 year old Lancashire boiler which will be lit throughout the day.

There’s an Easter Eggstravaganza from 1st to 16th April at Wildwood Devon near Ottery St. Mary. They have two egg-citing weeks jam-packed full of fun, family activities, including… Easter egg hunts in the beech hedge maze, face painting, willow crown making in the Saxon Village and more. No need to book to enjoy the fun.

At RAMM in Exeter on 4th April unleash the magic of one of the most wondrous ancient civilisations by making an Ancient Egyptian amulet. Visit the Egyptian Tomb in the Ancient Worlds gallery for some inspiration, then make a clay amulet inscribed with your name in hieroglyphs. On 12th April make your own Indonesian Shadow Puppet and create beautiful characters, breathing life into them by manipulating the sticks to lead them in a performance behind the shadow theatre screen.

There’s Jurassic adventure at Crealy Theme Park & Resort with the return of their Eggo-Saurus Dino Hunt. Huge bone structures, fossilised footprints and mysterious large eggs have been uncovered and they are looking for volunteers to help discover the secret location of more Dino eggs (egg hunt daily from 3rd to 16th April). Follow the co-ordinates to reveal the precise locations of the hidden eggs, using your very own prehistoric map to win an egg-ceptional chocolate prize. Plus, there’s a new live show – Sooty’s Wacky Workshop, the return of Tik and Tok and pop-up entertainment.

At Seaton Tramway the Pirate Tram is back and setting sail on 5th & 12th April. All aboard the fun-filled ‘Seaton Pearl’ following the Axe Estuary to find some “booty” at Colyton Station. A swashbuckling time awaits with Captain Nick, hoist the “Jolly Roger”, walk, talk and look like a pirate. On 8th April the Fairy Tale Tram is back with an enchanted tram ride filled with music and stories of faraway lands! Plus, the Easter Egg-Tram-Aganza is on from 7th to 10th April. Pick up a FREE activity sheet, find Gilbert the Station Master’s Goose and its Cheeky Chicks, and complete the sheet to win an Easter treat.

Jump into spring by spotting all the wildlife hidden around The Donkey Sanctuary, which is bursting with life now that spring is here. Seek out some of the many species by finding the wildlife boards around the Sanctuary and match them to the stickers provided. Just £5 per trail, including a prize when you complete it. Friendly dogs on leads are welcome too!

There’s plenty of Easter Family Fun at the World of Country Life in Exmouth from 3rd to 14th April. There’s a full programme of daily activities including walking a goat, bottle-feeding a lamb, hand-feeding the deer and llama, watching the birds of prey flying display, or cheering on a ferret at the ferret racing.

On Easter Sunday and Monday Bicton Park Botanical Gardens will be running a Gnome Hunt for children with a series of clues to help find the gnomes hidden around the park. Completed clue sheets handed into reception will be entered in the daily draw with a chance to win one of six Easter gifts.

At Diggerland this Easter children and adults alike can ride, drive and operate REAL diggers, dumpers and other full-size construction machinery. Fun for all ages (subject to height restrictions). Diggerland has 20 different rides and drives and an array of additional activities. Ideal for children 4-14 years and for groups, plus new for 2023 – children under 100cm go free! Plus, you can meet the Meerkat characters who will be making a special appearance at the theme park on 1st April.

It’s full steam ahead over at Pecorama – Devon’s finest miniature steam railway, when they reopen their doors on the 4th April for the start of season. They will be getting the season well underway with an Easter Fun week and Trail and prizes for all those that take part. Enjoy scenic steam train rides, the beautiful gardens, crazy golf, the model railway exhibition and let the kids let off more steam around the outdoor play areas. Plus, their new season passes are now available.

What’s On in Torbay & South Devon

At Kents Cavern from 1st to 16th April all tours during the holidays include the Easter Egglow! What’s that glowing in the cave? Is it a torch? Is it a lantern? No, it’s an Egg! But how many can you find hiding? As one of the fantastic guides leads you through the cave see how many glowing eggs you can find, and you might just earn yourself a seasonal treat! Outside the cave there’s still loads to EGGSPLORE!

At Babbacombe Model Village can you crack their Easter Egg Trail? Hop on over to try to find all of the colourful eggs hidden in and around the gardens. All successful young explorers will enjoy a small gift! The 9-hole crazy golf course adds an exciting extra dimension of fun for the whole family. Plus, NEW for 2023 The Cute Bug Trail & Hidden Diamond from April 1st, available every day. Will you spot their ’60th anniversary’ giant diamond? It may be a giant 3 inches wide for our miniature residents, but it won’t be easy to spot!

Join Paignton Zoo from 4th to 13th April for Centenary Rocks, their free pebble decorating Easter workshops. Decorate a pebble and either take it home or leave it at the zoo and your artwork can form part of a #CentenaryRocks display at their BIG Birthday ZOOnanza in July. Workshops take place in ‘Wild With Us’ between 11am and 3pm on 4th to 6th and 11th to 13th April.

There’s an Easter Egg Hunt at Bygones in Torquay from 1st to 16th April. Hunt for the hidden eggs and if you find them all you can claim your own FREE egg. No extra costs – the hunt is included in the admission price.

Steam on down to South Devon Railway to join their Easter Family Fun Weekend from 7th to 10th April. Bring the family for an Easter Egg Hunt, children’s activities, entertainers and loads to do with steam trains running all day. On 11 & 12 April the Mad Hatter’s Travelling Tea Party arrives at the Railway so join all of your favourite inhabitants of Wonderland on board an immersive journey through the world of wonderland! Meet Alice, The Mad Hatter, the March Hare, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and help Alice solve her mysterious riddle and bring herself and all of you home from Wonderland.

The Easter Bunny returns to Woodlands from April 1st – 9th! Traverse through the rabbit warren into Bunny’s Easter Grotto featuring amazing Easter themed rooms! Collect your special gift from the Easter Bunny and let Bunny’s helper take a photo of you together! Woodlands Easter Grotto is the only one of its kind in South Devon! Learn lots of essential dragon skills and grab a Zog trail activity pack from the Info Pod for only £4. The activity trail is 1.5 miles long, suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

There’s Easter Fun at the Falls from 1st to 16th April, discover nature at its best at Canonteign Falls. Explore the adventure playgrounds, trampolines, wooden galleon, zip wire and mini assault course. Spot the resident fairies and willow animals, including Terence the T-Rex, as you hunt for eggs on the Easter trail. Feed the ducklings on the lake and enter the fun Easter colouring competition.

Celebrate Easter at Becky Falls from 1st to 16th and find out which of their animals lay eggs (some might surprise you) in their Easter-themed Challenge and win a go on the chocolate tombola. Prize every time! All the usual activities will be available, you can take your time to explore over 50 acres of woodland rich in wildlife. What’s On in Plymouth

Visit Plymouth and follow their egg-citing new family-friendly Spring Time Egg Hunt at the West End, Plymouth City Centre from 1 to 17 April. With 10 large eggs to discover in West End shop windows each beautifully decorated egg is inspired by a different local habitat in springtime and the animals that live there.  There is a letter hiding on each egg. Once you’ve found all 10 letters and worked out the word complete the online form for your chance to win 1 of 3 x £50 vouchers.

Family Fun: Bee Positive – Join the team at The Box on selected dates throughout the Easter holidays and on Earth Day to learn more about the remarkable Six-Banded nomad bee – Britain’s rarest bee.
