Make your own illuminated letter art workshop

Using inspiration from the manuscripts in our exhibition Gatekeepers to Heaven, make your own illuminated letter. Decide on your letter and design it first on paper, adding emblems from nature. It could be a flowering branch, a trailing vine or maybe a mythical creature.

Then copy your design onto the sheet of metal to engrave and emboss. Add paint, and your medieval illuminated letter will be ready for framing and displaying.

Time: 10:30-15:30

Location: Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery Queen St, Exeter, EX4 3RX

Price: £3.50, Drop-in
