Collati Singers at Buckfast Abbey: Missa Brevis

Collati Singers returns to Buckfast with a programme showcasing the choral music of contemporary composer, Jonathan Dove. They perform his Missa brevis, and the joyful anthem Seek him that maketh the seven stars, a setting of text from the Book of Amos and Psalm 138, with the stars subtly evoked in the sparkling organ part. In contrast to Dove’s twenty first century Missa brevis, they also sing William Byrd Mass for five voices, dating from the end of the sixteenth century.
