Behind-the-scenes look at the workings of the museum
More information

Join Alison Hopper Bishop, RAMM’s Operational & Conservation Services Lead and Sarah Klopf, Senior Conservator at RAMM, as they talk about the work of the Conservation Department.

They will discuss the dilemmas and issues faced in looking after items from across the full range of RAMM’s collections, and give us an insight into the painstaking work involved to ensure artefacts remain in good condition and on display for the benefit of future visitors to the museum.

From dusting Gerald the Giraffe to storing a piece of cake icing, or dressing up Albert to keeping an eye on temperature and humidity, a conservator’s day at RAMM is never boring. This promises to be a fascinating glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes at RAMM.
