View EventSixteenth century choral music on the eve of Christ the King. Renaissance composers knew nothing of this Feast, which was only established in 1925, but they did often apply their art to celebrating Christ in majesty. This concert, by a choir specialising in music of the period, explores evocations of ‘The King of Glory’ by composers such as Palestrina, Byrd, Victoria, Marenzio, and Gabrieli. A suitably rousing finale to the liturgical year, before the penitential season of Advent gets under way.
