Primary Times Devon recently announced the winners and runners-up of their Star Awards for 2025, which aim to celebrate the best of what local tourism and family-oriented businesses have to offer and several of our attractions were listed as winners across the 8 different categories.
The awards are distinctive due to their authenticity, and winners are chosen by the readers of Primary Times, namely local families with primary school-aged children. The questions in the survey were designed to provide honest, authentic insight into what our readers value most from local businesses, and to offer information and recommendations to local families at a time when personal budgets are tighter than ever.
Local families were informed of the questionnaire in Primary Times Devon, a family-friendly magazine delivered to primary schools across Devon. With a distribution of 50,000 copies, the magazine reaches 272 primary schools and 54 libraries in the county.
This year, the prestigious Overall Winner category has once again awarded to Crealy Family Theme Park and Resort, with readers praising their extensive range of rides and facilities, seasonal events, variety of children’s activities, all-weather flexibility and overall appearance.
Crealy were also a successful winner in the Best Full Day Out, Best Value for Money, Party Venue and Best Recommendation to your Family and Friends categories.
There were 8 different categories covering a variety of different family-friendly needs with other winners and runners-up including Woodlands, National Maritime Aquarium, The Donkey Sanctuary, Stay and Play Hub in Plymouth, Ocean in Exmouth, Devon County Show, English Riviera Airshow, Greendale, Ullacombe Farm, The Waie Inn and World of Country Life.

Overall winners: Crealy Theme Park and Resort had this to say about their success in the Awards:
“Crealy Theme Park & Resort is delighted to have been named Overall Winner at the Primary Times Reader Star Awards, as well as winning Best Value for Money. Voted for by families, these awards mean a great deal to our team and reflect our commitment to creating unforgettable, affordable experiences for all ages. We would like to thank everyone who voted and our dedicated staff for their continued passion and hard work. We are also incredibly excited for 2026, with the launch of two brand-new rides, Pirates Plummet and Rotor, adding even more thrills to the Crealy experience. We cannot wait to welcome guests in 2026.”
