Humans have been painting on rocks for tens of thousands of years, and we're still doing it today...

10.30am to 3.30pm | Pay on arrival (no need to book) | RAMM’s Garden

Make some prehistoric paint then unleash your inner cave-person, producing a real piece of rock art to hang on your cave wall . . . or your bedroom anyway.

From the earliest handprints stencilled in the caves of France to the depictions of extinct mammals in the Americas; from the intricate designs of the San people in Africa to the colourful decorations you may have made for your garden or bedroom, rock art really does . . . well, rock!

Be inspired by our archaeology collection, or just get creative. Once you’ve made some simple paint out of different coloured mud, you’ll be on your way to designing your own Lascaux (that’s a pretty awesome rock art cave in France by the way).

In the hopeful expectation of fine weather, please do bring a rug or groundsheet to take part in the activity on the lawn.

Should you wish to discuss any access requirements, please give us a call on 01392 265960
