View EventFounded in 2015 by wildlife photographer Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE, the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards celebrate the lighter side of the animal kingdom while raising awareness of conservation issues. From clumsy lions to mischievous monkeys, this exhibition shows the humour, character and humanity of wildlife in a way that connects us all.
But there’s more to these funny shots than just comedy. The awards use the language of laughter to engage people with the need for wildlife conservation. Every funny face, awkward pose and well-timed snap helps us empathise with the creatures we share our planet with, and reminds us why we need to protect their future.
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards has become a major fixture in the photography calendar, receiving thousands of entries from both novices and professionals worldwide. Each year, the competition highlights the lighter side of wildlife while supporting conservation projects through its partnership with the Whitley Fund for Nature, to which it donates 10% of net revenue annually.
