More information

Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture.

Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. It’s your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – and it’s all FREE!

To celebrate Heritage Open Days we are throwing open the doors to our house and gardens, and giving everyone FREE entry to our multi-award winning tourist attraction. You can explore four floors of specially curated exhibitions, our permanent collections and interactive displays. You will also get to go outside and explore our stunning gardens complete with historic ruins, the Agatha Christie Potent Plants Garden and our amazing Palm House which turns 50 this year.

If that’s not exciting enough, we are also offering three FREE tours a day at 11am, 1pm and 3pm (pre-bookable).

On Saturday 21 September members of the Torquay Pottery Collectors Society will be on hand to answer questions about their new exhibition ‘Patterns on Pots’.
