Poetry workshop
More information

Would you like to learn new writing skills and develop your poetic voice?

Join local writer and poet Louisa Adjoa Parker in a free poetry writing workshop at RAMM.

Louisa will use museum objects from the World Cultures gallery as inspiration to spark conversations and help you access your creativity. You will be encouraged to write about your own experiences on themes such as identity, memory, connection, home, and your place in the world.

The MyWords poetry workshops form part of a larger project in partnership with The Museum of Colour, a digital museum that celebrates the contribution of people of colour to the UK’s creative industries from 1766 – 2016. They are also part of the launch of the museum’s My Words exhibition which aims to make visible those who collectively have made a significant change to our understanding of poetry and spoken word in Britain.

Workshops are limited to up to 12 people, booking essential. There will be a 30 min break half-way through.
