October Half Term Activities

Join us at Wildwood Escot this October half term where we will have many activities and trails themed around Halloween and our ravishing red squirrels. We will have plenty going on to keep the whole family entertained whilst learning about this beautiful, native species.
Squirrel Scavenger Hunt
Head to our Pirate Ship park to take part in our squirrel scavenger hunt. To take part, simply search for five golden acorns in our pirate play area and bring them back to the Saxon village. For just 50p, anyone who successfully brings back five acorns will be automatically entered into a prize draw for a chance to win one of three squirrel related prizes.
Squirrel Trail
For the adventurers who will be joining us, why not take part in our red squirrel themed trail for just £2. Explore the entire park whilst learning about red squirrels along the way and discover how amazing they are! There will be a goodie bag waiting in the kiosk for anyone who completes the trail.
Squirrel Craft
Anyone who loves being artistic can take part in our red squirrel craft where you will be able to decorate your very own red squirrel with the stunning colours of the autumn leaves collected from around the park. How many shades of red can you make your squirrel?
Anglo Saxon Village
The Witch of Wildwood
It wouldn’t be Halloween without the Witch of Wildwood. Our Witch will be making her return this October half term and anyone who is brave enough to dare venture into the Saxon Village will find the Witch’s Hut, where she will be lurking with her cauldron. Will you be brave enough to help her add vile ingredients to her secret potion?
Whilst in the Saxon Village, why not try your hand at Anglo Saxon crafting; such as penny striking and magic rune carving.
For those who deserve a tasty treat, marshmallow toasting will also be available along with our seasonal delights; apple bobbing and pumpkin carving.
Touch Table
For those who prefer hands on learning, we will have an awe-inspiring artefact touch table where you will find animal skulls, bones, skins, nests and more!
Photography Competition
Calling nature photographers of ALL ages, here’s your chance to win a unique red squirrel feeding experience at Wildwood Escot. This competition is free to enter and all you have to do is take a snap of one of our red squirrels to be in with a chance to win.. you’d be nuts not to!
