The glitzy awards were held at the London Ice Rink venue in South Kensington on Wednesday, November 14 th and the night saw 50 of the top travel experiences and
attractions including game reserves, theme parks and interactive museums crowned winners in the newly formatted Family Traveller Excellence Awards, hosted by renowned singer songwriter, Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
Over 110,000 votes were cast by Family Traveller readers and subscribers to find the 50 Excellence Award Winners, double the number of votes cast for the 2018 awards.
Diggerland were awarded partly for their innovative commitment to the environment and sustainability. All Diggerland parks boast carbon-neutral biomass boilers, solar panels on the roofs of all buildings, electric vehicle charging points and also have partnered with EVision Electric Vehicle Hire to providing collection and drop off points for EVision customers.
The Diggerland UK Theme Parks are located in Kent, Devon, Durham and Yorkshire; and offer a unique experience whereby children and adults can ride on, drive and operate real JCB and Komatsu construction machinery, including various diggers and dumpers.
