Devon’s Top Attractions Serve Up Smiles, Scones, and 40 Years of Tourism Triumph at Their Sparkling ‘Forty For TEA’ Celebration!
Sunshine, scones, and spectacular scenery! Devon’s Top Attractions marked a major milestone on National Cream Tea Day as they gathered on the grand lawn of Holne Park House at River Dart Country Park for a glorious celebration of four decades of excellence — and they did it in the most Devon way possible: with a cream tea in hand and smiles all round.
In a dazzling display of togetherness and tourism pride, current members, founding figures, and former chairpeople came together to honour 40 fabulous years and 40 current members of Devon Association of Tourist Attractions (DATA) a not-for-profit collective committed to showcasing the very best days out in Devon.
40 Years, One Mighty Legacy
This wasn’t just a party. It was a proud celebration of what makes Devon’s visitor experience truly exceptional — a vibrant mix of castles, coasters, caves, creatures, coastlines, and more, all brought together by a community of high-quality, independently inspected attractions.
Being part of Devon’s Top Attractions isn’t just a badge — it’s a promise. Every member undergoes rigorous annual inspections to uphold the highest standards. It’s this quality mark that ensures visitors can count on safe, family-friendly, and unforgettable days out, wherever they go in Devon.
From Cream Teas to Community Spirit
The centrepiece of the event? A spectacular ‘4-0’ cream tea formation, featuring members and their mascots — a picture-perfect moment to launch a summer of celebration and kick off their biggest ever giveaway. In sync with National Cream Tea Day (27th June), each attraction will be showcasing their own unique twist on Devon’s most iconic treat. #Creamfirst.
Summer Fun, Forty Times Over!
Anne Blackham Marketing Manager said. “To mark our 40th anniversary, we will be giving away 40 family tickets in a massive summer giveaway competition. It’s our way of saying thank you to the visitors who’ve helped make us what we are today — and an invitation to make new memories with us this summer.”
