WHAT’S ON IN EXETER & EAST DEVON
The tranquil waters of the River Exe allow Stuart Line Cruises to cruise through the winter to see this changing landscape which is home to a wide range of wildlife and migrating birds. Departing from Exmouth Marina, these circular cruises travel along the peaceful waters towards Powderham Castle. With indoor heated lower decks, large windows for great viewing and outside upper decks with plenty of fresh air and blankets. Sailings on 18 & 22 February.

At RAMM in Exeter there are half term workshops inspired by their Grayson Perry exhibition, Aspects of Myself. 17 Feb – Badge Making, children can create faces out of felt. This will then be made into a beautiful badge for them to wear with pride. 18 Feb – Step into somebody else’s shoes and imagine how it would feel to be someone from history. There are costumes from all eras and all parts of the world. On 19 Feb – Musical Moments Around the Word Family Sessions.
Dunkeswell Raceway is open during half term. Ideal for individuals (novice or experienced), birthdays and corporate entertaining. History off the Hanger Fashion exhibition opens at Killerton on 14 February. It reflects the way that fashion histories have been told and includes examples of books and hand-coloured engravings dating from 1882 onwards. Plus for February Half Term – Welly Wander Bingo Spot the early signs of spring and be the first to shout ‘bingo!’ This time of year, Killerton is full of the signs of spring, and across the estate we’re working to help nature thrive.

This interactive family trail is packed with Room on the Broom themed activities, fascinating forest facts and plenty of hands-on fun – but watch out for the Dragon along the way! Becky Falls reopens for 2026 and are excited to welcome visitors to their brand-new meerkat enclosure, with two new meerkats joining their two girls — they’re already loving their new home! There’s a full day of adventure with over 50 acres of ancient woodland to explore, walking trails, 70ft waterfall, children’s nature trail, meet the animals and hourly Meet the Keeper Talks.

Have a go at the Brass Rubbing trail at House of Marbles. It’s just £2, including a booklet & crayons which can be kept as a keepsake of your visit. Open to all ages but recommended for ages 4–10 (& younger children with supervision). The trail was installed in 2018 as a heritage project for the site and is expected to last for many years!

The perfect day out this half term is a visit to the National Marine Aquarium. The Aquarium is made up of 4 main zones, with lots of different exhibits and animals found in each. The Atlantic Ocean Exhibit is the deepest holding a massive 2.5 million litres. Be amazed when you see all the animals from the biggest Sand Tiger Sharks to the tiniest Angelfish. Create laughing peg mouth characters, use props to make funny photos or film clips, listen to stories, share the jokes and games you use to make other people laugh and make comical pet puppets. WHAT’S ON IN NORTH DEVON
Enjoy creative activities at the visitor centre and the unique factory tour at Dartington Crystal, open from Monday to Friday. From hand casting, glass painting and engraving and the Teddy Factory there’s plenty of indoor fun on offer. Starting on Sat 14 February and continuing all year, explore The Wind in the Willows: A Garden Adventure trail at RHS Rosemoor.
