Pecorama 2020 - remains closed

We regret to inform you that we have taken the very difficult decision to announce that Pecorama will remain closed to the general public for the whole 2020 season.

We have very carefully considered our options and investigated the safety implications, made estimates on potential income and considered these alongside the complications added by using parts of the site for manufacturing and sadly come to the conclusion that it is not sensible to try and open this year.

We will continue to maintain the Beer Heights Light Railway and the wonderful gardens and keep our social media accounts updated.  We also hope to create some videos of the gardens and railway for your interest and inspiration.  The Model Shop will remain open, although currently only for mail-order, collections or by appointment.

We are now turning our attention to shaping the future of Pecorama for 2021 and beyond and we hope to be able to share some exciting plans with you later in the year.

We would like to thank all our loyal customers for their kindness, support and understanding during this difficult time and we hope that you all stay safe and well.

Description

An up-date for our loyal customers and visitors to Pecorama.

You may have seen in the news that the Government are now suggesting it may soon be possible for outdoor tourist attractions to open again, we thought we would give a quick up-date on the situation here at Pecorama

Whist we are really missing our customers and very sad that the trains cannot run, for the safety of all, we do need to remain closed for the moment. But the Directors are reviewing the situation regularly in connection with the frequently changing Government restrictions regarding the Covid19 pandemic.

Many of our customers will know, Peco is, first and foremost, a renowned manufacturer of model railway products. The need for our factory staff to work “Covid safely” has meant temporarily moving some production facilities into undercover areas within the tourist attraction. This, of course, will also have a bearing on when we are able to reopen and what facilities may be available when we do.

Our Model and Gift shop is currently only operating a mail-order service. Customers can also call or email us with orders and arrange collection if preferred. Phone 01297 21542 and ask for Mark or Phil or email [email protected]peco.co

Please keep an eye on our Website – https://www.pecorama.co.uk/ and Facebook page –  https://www.facebook.com/pecorama/ for up-dates.

In the meantime, we will keep posting pictures of the trains and gardens – along with the occasional video – for those of you missing it all!

 Updates from Pecorama

Due to Government guidelines, we remain closed at this time.

Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time, please stay safe and if you have any queries please do not hesitate to give us call on 01297 21542 or email on [email protected]

Pecorama at Beer, one of East Devon’s leading visitor attractions, is the home to the famous PECO Model Railway Exhibition and the Beer Heights Light Railway.

The Exhibition hall displays wonderfully detailed railway layouts, in many different gauges.

Outdoors, a fleet of miniature steam locomotives pull passenger trains on a mile-long route through the grounds, over bridges, through steep-sided cuttings and a long, dark tunnel!

Pecorama also features the Millennium Celebration Garden, a series of five celestially themed garden ‘rooms’. The individual garden names of Sun, Moon, Rainbow, Roof and Moat Garden reflect the nature and colour of the flowers, shrubs and trees found in each.

Children can choose from a variety of Activity Play Areas whilst an extensive programme of entertainment runs each summer, with shows from mid July until early September. Whatever the weather, clowns , jesters and magicians provide entertainment under cover of the PECO Marquee.

New for 2020 – WE ARE NOW DOG FRIENDLY!

We spent a whole day at Pecorama, it was very enjoyable, we loved the train rides and spotting all the different miniature engines as they went under the bridges, it’s in a beautiful setting above Beer with stunning views, the gardens are beautiful and it’s really lovely walking around the whole park. There is an outdoor children’s play area which is great and the soft play is fantastic, our little chap didn’t want to leave, played crazy golf on the best crazy golf course I’ve ever played on! A return visit is planned-there’s still a couple of trains we haven’t been on!

Can’t fault Pecorama, lots to do for everyone, crazy golf is great fun. Getting tickets and paying is quick and easy. The train ride is just amazing, perfect views. The inside play areas is clean and nice seating area for the parents. The lady’s at the face painting were amazing, and polite and done a great job.

My family and I visited Pecorama in Beer and was pleasantly surprised by this unique visit!! It’s a must visit for any age group! The Gardens we’re extremely well kept! And the miniature train was great! The attention to detail is amazing! We also had cream tea in the old fashion train carriage! That was a great experience and the waiter was lovely, telling us the history of the carriage! The cream tea was delicious too!

We had a fantastic day out loads to see and do. Our 21 month old daughter loved it Crazy golf, soft play, park, gardens, exhibition and of course the train Thought it was very good value for money as well.

Good value for money (which is important for families these days). From toddlers to grandads lots to see and do from the model train exhibits thru the lovely gardens with places to sit and rest (rather steep and hilly but, you are in Devon), good soft indoor and outdoor play areas for the children and of course the steam train rides.
Overall a fantastic day out for all ages, we’re definitely going back for another visit!
